Needing ideas for your upcoming couples trip? Whether it's an anniversary trip, Valentine's weekend, or just a much needed trip, here are FIVE romantic getaways for you and your loved one!

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Tropical beach

Starting off strong, Dominican Republic! The DR has many beautiful parts to it. They are known for it's rich history, colorful towns, natural beauty, and Caribbean beaches.

Santo Domingo is the capital of Dominican Republic and is full of historical sites and great restaurants. There is a fun restaurant to visit while in this city. It is inside a cave! It is one of the top ten restaurants to go to in Santo Domingo. There is an airport right in the city so it is an easy destination to arrive at.

Punta Cana is also a great location to travel to if you love beaches. It is located on the eastern side of the DR with their own airpot. They have amazing beaches full of white sand, clear water, and many beautiful resorts. I recommend Iberostar Grand Bavaro. Thy have stunning beaches right at their resort. Their staff is amazing, food is wonderful, and the property its breathtaking. If you are interested in going to both Punta Cana and Santo Domingo, it is about a two hour drive which taxi or Uber offers.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas arch

Next up, Cabo San Lucas. This is an easy destination to arrive to also. It is on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. It is known for it's beaches and marine life. Although Cabo San Lucas is a beach vacation spot, it is an arid Sonoro Gulf Coast Desert climate. It has low humidity and warm temperatures- averaging around 78 degrees Fahrenheit (26 Celsius).

The picture above, is a popular tourist destination. It is a rock formation with a arch in it. El Arco de Cabo San Lucas. It is the top attraction to do in Cabo San Lucas according to Trip Advisor's reviewers. You can take a boat ride tour to the formations and see the marine life. It is an enjoyable and beautiful boat ride.

New York City, New York

New York City

New York City, has so much to offer in all seasons! Central Park is a must. You can rent bikes and ride around central park, have a picnic, walk around, watch a movie. What a movie? YES! Central park also offers free movies that they play during the summer. Just bring a blanket and some snack and you can watch a fun movie in this infamous park. Central Park Zoo is a fun location to go to which is located on the southeast corner of Central Park. On this south side of the park, you can also visit the Plaza Hotel where part of Home Alone 2 was filmed. Right next to this entrance is a spot for renting bikes. New York City also has many museums which that are popular including The MET, American Museum of Natural History, Museum of Ice Cream, the MoMA. Times Square is a must in NYC which is major commercial intersection and tourist destination. In the winter, Rockefeller Center has ice skating which is so romantic! They have their huge Christmas tree and ice skating right underneath it, This was also a scene in Home Alone 2;)

New York is known for their food. How to even choose! Here are my top three dessert stops:

  1. Magnolia's Bakery- their banana cream pudding... just trust me.

  2. Levain Bakery- known for their big cookies

  3. Serendipity 3- yummy huge desserts and an experience in itself! It is the cutest location. Wait until you see the physical size of their menu- so fun!

Grand Cayman

Beach doc and beach chairs

Another tropical destination! Grand Cayman, also known as the Cayman Islands, is a favorite of mine. It is in the western Caribbean Sea. It is full of great snorkeling, scuba diving, kind people, and fun attractions to go to. Stingray City is in the top three attractions to do on this Island. You take a boat out to this "city" and can swim with the stingrays. The water is anywhere from hip to chest deep depending on how tall you are. You just stand there and the stingrays just come to you. Other fun attractions are Rum Point, Starfish Point, Cayman Crystal Caves, and diving Kittiwake Shipwreck & Artificial Reef.

Paris, France

Eiffel Tower lights

Paris, known as one of the post romantic cities in the world! Full of delicious food, vibrant history, and beautiful attractions. At the top of the Eiffel Tower, there is a restaurant called the Champagne Bar. It makes for a romantic dinner setting with an unforgettable view of Paris. The tower lights up every evening from dusk until 11:45 PM. It sparkles every five minutes at the beginning of the hour.

The Seine River banks is a romantic spot that passes the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Basilica, Pont des Arts, and many more iconic sites. It has rich history and many couples have declared their love at the Seine's banks.
