The beautiful island of O'ahu is the perfect vacation spot for adventurous couples. It offers stunning beaches, lush forests, and some of the best hikes in the United States. Below we have compiled 12 of the best hikes on O'ahu.

Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail
This trail is a 4.7 mile roundtrip hike. It showcases the entire island as you hike along the ridge. The trail begins in a gated community so arrive early to receive a parking pass. If you are afraid of heights I would not recommend this hike!
Koko Crater Stairs
One of our favorite O'ahu hikes. Take on the challenge and ascend 912 feet of elevation via abandoned railroad ties. This hike lets you see all of Honolulu. We recommend hiking before sunset for a lovely view!
Makapu'u Point Lighthouse
If you are looking for a less intense hike this is the perfect hike for you! The Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail offers stunning views of the ocean as you walk along a paved trail to the lighthouse.
Lanikai Pillbox
Another crowd favorite! This hike is short but steep, so make sure you wear the right shoes. At the top of the trail hang out on an old WWII concrete pillbox. After your hike go and check out the white sand Lanakai Beach.
Maunawili Falls
This trail truly showcases the ecological diversity of O'ahu. During the 5.2 mile trek you will encounter different types of stone, forests, and jungle all ending at a waterfall. The best part of this hike is taking a plunge from the falls at the end. Are you brave enough?
Diamond Head Summit
This hike is right next to the beautiful Waikiki area. It is a paid hike that is paved with some steep switchbacks and stairs. Definitely worth it to go early and avoid the crowds.
Kuli'ou'ou Ridge
This trail may be difficult to find. The trailhead can be accessed through Ka'alakei Valley. The trail holds magnificent views and is never too busy. Make sure to bring lots of water and wear good shoes. This hike can be slippery in spots and has four rope sections.
Waimea Falls
Waimea Falls is part of Waimea Valley. It requires paid entry but offers amazing plant life along a paved trail. At the end of the trail you can swim in the refreshing waters of the Waimea Falls.
Pu'u O Hulu (Pink Pillbox)
This is another of the many pillbox hikes in Hawaii. This particular pillbox has been deemed the pink pillbox and is located on the dry side of the island. Make sure to bring lots of water, while short, this hike can get hot!
Pu'u Mā'eli'eli (Digging Hill)
Last but not least is the Pu'u Mā'eli'eli hike. This is another ridge line hike. It is perfect for avid hikers with some steep climbs and scrambling. The trail provides good shade coverage and some more fun pillboxes to explore. It is another beautiful hike to include in your trip.
